Kentucky Trip

This week Elly's class took their big 5th grade field trip to Louisville, KY. We left the school on charter busses at 6 a.m. We headed straight to Churchill Downs to see where they hold the Kentucky Derby. We got a tour and saw some horses training. It is so interesting to see and learn about the stuff that goes into horse racing. The museum was very nice and had a lot of history. You could see the outfits people wear on race day and even learn how to place a wager.

Next we went on a river boat cruise to have lunch and they even had a DJ with lots of fun music, dancing and swearty kids.

The next stop was the Louisville slugger museum.

It was cool and I can't believe how much goes into one bat and that each Major leagur player has their own pattern used to make their bat.

Then we went home and stopped at Burger King on the way home. Making it home just before a big storm hit at 8:30.

We even saw a Bedazzled Limo!
Elly at bat at the Slugger Museum!
Biff was gone to Savannah, Georgia all week. He got home on Friday night just to find out the Father/ Son campout was rained out--Some disappointed boys! : ( But we did make a trip to the after hours clinic to have them check out Rowen's "owie". On Wednesday, he showed us a red boil on his left hip and it just oozed pus when I touched it. By Friday, it had green pus coming out and lots of blood. Anyway took him to the clinic-thinking possibly a staff infection and now await results but it looks a lot better and he is on Bactrum. P.S. the Dr. did not use universal precautions. So good luck to his next patient that may have a good staff infection or to us that may have who knows what from the last patient. We have to keep draining it so we bought some candy and Biff said every time you let us squeeze this you can have some candy. So Rowen says, "Dad if I let you squeeze by bum bum you give me candy?" Doesn't sound too good now does it!?!?

Bailee was all set for the big 8th grade dance-- we even spent the afternoon decorating for it and then the school district cancelled all after school activities because of weather. So they went out to dinner and to Bogey's instead. They still did each others hair.

Saturday was the mowing of our lawn or should I say bailing of our lawn because of all the rain it was so LONG! Ro had a T-ball game, Peyton had a baseball game and Elly had softball pictures, a soccer practice and a b-day party. The young women had a car wash and then a graduation party followed by a retirement dinner at ISU. We thought Saturday wouldn't be busy but it was. We came home and fell asleep watching Footloose--I love that movie. Elly and her team photo.

Busy spring

I think we were trying to set a record on Saturday. We played 5 baseball games, 1 out of town soccer game, county tennis championship and three team pictures!! It was a great day! The boys were very wet after playing outside. After a beautiful morning; it rained all afternoon.

Rowen's team. He is on the front with the green wrist band (from Great Wolf Lodge--refuses to take it off)

Rowen loves T-ball mostly I think he loves being like the big kids!

Peyton on Picture day!

Bailee and her doubles partner Lydia played the most exciting tennis games we have seen all year! They made it to the championship round the score was 6-6 so they had to go into a tie breaker and then barely lost in the tie breaker. It was so sad yet an awesome game. We are so proud of them. Biff and Elly traveled past Indy to a soccer game and had a great time.

Peyton's class had their Spring Program. It was cute. They sang about a "Whopper" the whale. On Tuesday, I picked the kids up from school and a little girl came up to me and said, "Mrs. Williams, Peyton and I are boyfriend and girlfriend and it is serious." Oh lovely is all I could say. But I do know what I will say the next time that happens--can't wait!

Braden's class had a recorder concert and he did a great job! It was fun to hear them squeak and watch them dance!

To catch up:
on May 8th I ran the Indy 500 Mini-500 mini marathon (13.1 miles). It was a lot of fun and I am glad I did it. I just wanted to finish in under 2 hours and I did-- so it was great! We ran on a very cold and windy day and then sat through a super cold soccer game for Bailee in Zionsville.

On April 27- May 3 Rowen and I went to Utah. We flew to Vegas and Karolyn picked us up. We spent the night in St George. We had lunch with Erin on Wednesday and then left Ro with my dad and wnet to BYU for Womens conference. It was great! We had an awesome time. It was a great spritual boost. We also saw a lot of friends from college and high school. Karolyn and my mom got interviewed for BYU TV and then we got a photo shoot for mormon .org. It was hilarious! On the way home Friday night we went to Craigo's in Cedar City for a party for Erin. She competed in the Ironman the next day. It was so fun and super interesting to watch. It is amazing that people can do that. We had a great time cheering Erin on. On Sunday we had brunch and then went to the airport. Ro and I had a great time

Erin had a cute friend that made us all T-shirts for the race day!

Testimony of a 4 year old

Just had to write down a few of the funny things Rowen has said lately. On Sunday, we were in the chapel after church while Bailee was practicing the organ and Ro went up to the microphone and says, "I sorry about all the problems you been havin. I so sorry." Then the second time he says, "Can I get an Amen--AMEN!"

At church yesterday, Ro said to his teacher Hay hay, I gonna marry you. Don't tell my mom!

Then he said Hay Hay you give me kiss. So she kissed him and a girl behind them in primary said that better be your mom or that is sick. Ro said No it my girlfriend!

Today he got out some athletic tape and he said, "I need this for my booby." then I said, "Rowen don't say that." He said, "Mom, I not mean my round thing you know like girls have-- I mean my owie." Too funny.

Easter, Conference and Spring break

This is one for the Books

Bailee's team the Honey Creek Bees ended their basketball season in March. They won the Vigo county Championships and got 2nd in State. Go Bees! It came with a lot of exciting games and even a few nail biters.

They played Otter Creek and won it in the last minute. It is a rivalry that has been going on for years.
Here is the team right after the win.
Bailee getting a post game pep talk from Coach Davis. Coach Davis is great. She reminds me of Emily Williams--my favorite coach ever.

Bailee and Lexi--Now smiling after a hit in the mouth.

Bailee and Jessica.

Bailee and Shelby.

Cutting the net down AGAIN!!
Bailee and Emily (the high scorer!)
Caoch Davis and her daughter Keeley (who dresses up like the bee for all the games).
Then the team went on to Fort wayne to play in the State tournament. The Spiece Fieldhouse is incredible. Here is the store.

Bailee was able to play every minute in the games. It was a lot of fun to watch.

Elly, Bailee, Mary (another girl on the team) and I stayed over night and had a great time. Here is Elly staying by a statue of the World's tallest man. HUGE!

Biff turns 39!

How scary is it that we both turn 39 this year. It wasn't as bad until last week one of my best friends had her birthday and she turned 50. I told Biff, "I can't believe our friends are 50." Funny how it hits you that years are screaming by!! Ahhhhh...

Biff and the kids--we can't get a picture of everyone being normal.

Happy Birthday Biff! And with Biff's birthday comes our anniversary. We have now been married 17 Awesome years!
